Additionally, the ongoing government shutdown is causing significant flight delays and cancellations nationwide, including at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

In the meantime, the U.S. D.A. has ordered states to stop issuing full SNAP benefits to Americans. So the Trump administration demanding states, quote, undo those SNAP benefits that were already paid out in full. There's some new guidelines and new guidance here from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which controls SNAP. It comes after a Supreme Court order on Friday. That order allowed the White House to hold back on fully funding SNAP for the roughly 32 million Americans who rely on the program for food assistance. Take a listen. It makes it impossible to be able to plan for how the family is going to be able to get through that day, that week, the next month, because they don't know when that funding is going to be coming in. It's just horror to me that as an American citizen at my age, I can't have Thanksgiving dinner with my family because I can't afford the groceries. So there are a lot of different organizations who have been helping with food boxes, and we have some programs here around the state as well that have been very busy over the weekend. The U.S. D.A. is warning states that could face some harsh penalties if they do not comply with the latest court order. Governor Katie Hobbs releasing a statement on the issue yesterday. She called on the Trump administration to end the legal battle to withhold food assistance from Arizona families and requested a call with U.S. D.A. Secretary to discuss the latest guidance and really demand full benefit payments. So far, she has directed $1.8 million to local food pantries and shares with us that all options are on the table, but it's unclear what other funds could be used. Again, this is very partisan, and you have sides on both sides of the aisle here that are arguing their different parts, and we'll be covering this part of the issue, of course, throughout the day. Fallout from the shutdown continues as well that impacts our airports. Yeah, delays and cancellations, they are stacking up across the country, including right here at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. So this is after the FAA ordered cutbacks to combat the shortage of air traffic controllers working without pay during the government shutdown. So far, at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, as of this morning, about 28 flights delayed, 70 cancellations for later today. There are many flight problems at airports nationwide. Yesterday, more than 7,000 delays and 2,000 cancellations.
