On Monday, Thai airstrikes targeted Cambodian positions housing long-range artillery after surveillance warned that rockets, including a Chinese-made variant, could be used to hit civilian areas. That was according to a Thai military official. The Thai Navy claims Cambodian forces were deploying snipers and heavy weapons, fortifying positions and digging crenches, and saw the actions as a direct and serious threat to Thailand's sovereignty. The second invasion activity by the Thai side clearly shows their intention to invade, grabbing their neighbor's country land by using a unilateral map and using force to change the border front line. The two countries have contested sections of their 508-mile border for more than a century, with disputes over ancient temples fueling nationalist tensions and sporadic clashes, including a deadly artillery exchange in 2011.
