A stabbing incident occurred at Keysborough Secondary College's Acacia Campus, where a teacher allegedly attacked Principal Aaron Sykes with two knives after learning his contract would not be renewed. The school went into lockdown as staff acted quickly to protect students and assist in evacuations.

Police reported that the accused, Kim Ramchen, claimed to have lost control during the incident and intended to incapacitate the principal. Ramchen, who has no prior criminal history, appeared in court where his brother offered surety. The case also referenced Ramchen's family background.

It happened near the end of the school day yesterday at Keysborough Secondary College's Acacia Campus. Principal Aaron Sykes was attacked, allegedly, by Kim Ramchen, who'd been told his teaching contract won't be renewed next year. He's accused of going to a kitchen drawer and pulling out a 10cm knife. He allegedly walked into the victim's office, held it to the principal's throat and slashed other parts of his body. Another staff member pulled him away. Police say Mr Ramchen then went and got a larger 30cm knife and returned to the office attacking Aaron Sykes again. The court heard the teacher told police he snapped, saying I've never been so angry in my life. He claims he lost control, telling officers he was trying to completely incapacitate the principal. Kim Ramchen has no prior criminal history. He was a star student in high school, his VCE score was 99.95, his mother Jackie was a model on the Price is Right. She disappeared in 1992. His father Slavik was charged with a murder but the matter didn't make it to trial. Slavik died of cancer when Kim was 14. His older brother, Lev Ramchen, offered the court his surety today.
