Spanish police have arrested three individuals, including the leader of a white supremacist group, during a raid in Castellón. Authorities seized firearms, ammunition, knives, tactical gear, and neo-Nazi paraphernalia from the suspects, who had conducted paramilitary training and expressed willingness to carry out attacks.

The group’s leader maintained direct contact with Ronaldo Nazzaro, the US-born founder of the Base, an organization designated as a terrorist group by the European Union and other countries. Police report that the Base promotes violent accelerationism and operates internationally, recruiting members online and preparing for violent actions.

Designated a terrorist organisation by the European Union and other countries, the group he founded in 2018 promotes accelerationism, an ideology that seeks to hasten the collapse of democratic institutions through violence. It operates through an international network of paramilitary cells that use social media to recruit sympathisers and prepare for a race war, according to police. The arrests come as polls in Spain show growing youth support for nationalist groups.

The White House confirmed it authorized a second airstrike on an alleged Venezuelan drug boat in September, but denied it ordered everyone on board be killed, which would be considered a war crime.
