Malaysia's transport ministry has confirmed that the search for missing passenger plane MH370 will resume, more than ten years after its disappearance. The renewed effort will begin on December 30 and is scheduled to last 55 days, following a previous attempt that was suspended due to bad weather.

The search will be conducted by Ocean Infinity under a no-find, no-fee arrangement, with a payment of over $100 million if the wreckage is found. Authorities have identified a 15,000 square kilometre area as having the highest probability of locating the aircraft, which vanished in 2014 with 239 people on board.

It'll be led by Ocean Infinity, which has a no-find, no-fee policy. But if the wreckage is discovered, the company will be paid more than $100 million by the Malaysian government. As for the search area, it is massive, a 15,000 square kilometre site which the Malaysian government says is targeted and assessed to have the highest probability of locating the aircraft. This is yet another chapter in what remains one of the world's most enduring aviation mysteries.
