R&B vocalist Cassandra Ventura sued Sean "Diddy" Combs in federal court on Thursday, accusing the rapper and hip-hop mogul she once dated and whose music label she signed with of subjecting her to serial physical abuse, sexual slavery and rape.

That's how rapper Sean Diddy Combs has been depicted by his former girlfriend, Cassandra Ventura, in a lawsuit that alleges he abused her for more than 10 years. Cassandra Ventura, better known as R&B singer Cassie, filed the lawsuit on Thursday, which gives a horrific account of her relationship with the rapper and hip-hop mogul, who has gone by the names Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Diddy and Love. In it, she accused Combs of a cycle of abuse, violence and sex trafficking during the course of their relationship, and alleges that he used his powerful network to keep her trapped in the situation. According to the suit, which was outlined in this New York Times article, Combs began pursuing Ventura when she was 19, offering her drugs, apartments and designer clothing. He then began a pattern of control that included forcing her to engage in sex acts with male prostitutes while he filmed the encounters, raping her in her own home after she tried to leave him, and beating her to the point of bruises and bleeding. Combs' lawyer said he vehemently denied the offensive and outrageous allegations, and that he has been subjected to demands of $30 million during the last six months, which he refused. Ventura's lawyer, however, said that Combs had previously offered her eight figures to silence her and prevent the filing of this lawsuit. But now, Ventura says she is finally ready to tell her story.
