The event was a collaboration between the Michael Ann and Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation, Ashley Furniture, and the Salvation Army, aiming to ensure children have a safe and comfortable place to sleep.

Barkley, fresh off a recent game, emphasized the importance of giving back to the community and engaged with the children during the event. Ashley Furniture, which has donated 170,000 beds over 15 years, and the Salvation Army will deliver the beds directly to families' homes.

They not only got a chance to meet their Eagles hero, they also got a chance to have a new place to lay their head at night. Fresh off his win in Green Bay last night, working on just a few hours sleep, Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley showing up at the Fieldhouse in Spring Garden tonight to meet with about 50 kids who all got new mattresses and all new bedding for their bedrooms donated to them. The Michael Ann and Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation, along with Ashley Furniture, who is a Fox 29 sponsor, along with the Salvation Army teamed up to provide the beds. Some kids in the city, believe it or not, share their beds or sleep on couches or even the floor. Saquon says giving back to the community is just who he is. Yeah, to be honest, whether win or you lose, when you come to stuff like this, to put things in perspective that there's so much more stuff bigger than football, but it's always great to get a win. It's hard to win a National Football League. Going to Lambeau Field, winning there was a big win for us. And now we got to move on and get ready for Detroit. So all of those beds will be now loaded into a truck by the Salvation Army. They're going to be delivered door to door to all of those families. Ashley Furniture says they've been doing this for 15 years. They've given out 170,000 beds over the years. Saquon Barkley, part of that mission. Yeah, and you know, they just landed. The team landed at four in the morning from Green Bay. And here he is in the community. Twelve hours later, giving back to the community. You know, he's the Walter Payton Man of the Year award. That's for the most philanthropic player. And he's got to be nominated at some point because he's very involved in this community. I was saying to Jason, Chris, he might have slept on the plane because Jason can't sleep. No, maybe Saquon can. But after all that excitement, you know, it's just a good thing that he was able to show up for the kids. Yeah. Chris, thank you. And he loved it. He was there throwing passes with the kids.
