Russia has announced the capture of Vyshneve, a village in the Donetsk region near the strategic hub of Pokrovsk. The claim emerged amidst a series of drone strikes launched by Russia on Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed on social media that over the past week, more than 900 bomb strikes, 30 missiles, and nearly 500 Shahid drones have contributed to the conflict.

Ukraine’s air force reported intercepting 66 out of 96 drones dispatched by Russia in one wave of attacks, targeting multiple regions, including Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv. Despite these interceptions, drone debris damaged civilian infrastructure in Kyiv.

Additionally, Russian state media claimed that Russian air defenses had successfully destroyed 19 Ukrainian drones across various regions. The ongoing exchanges underscore the continued tension in the region.

Russia launched 96 drone attacks on Ukraine from Saturday to Sunday, with Ukraine's air force claiming to have shot down 66, according to its official telegram channel. Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv were reported to be among the 10 affected regions. As a result of one of the strikes, debris damaged civilian infrastructure in Kyiv. On Sunday, Russia announced it had captured the village of Vishnevy in the Donetsk region near the strategic hub of Pokrovsk. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on social media that Russia had delivered over 900 bomb strikes, 30 missiles and nearly 500 Shahid drones across Ukraine in the past week. Meanwhile, the Russian state news agency reported that Russian air defences destroyed 19 Ukrainian drones across at least three regions.
