Russian President Vladimir Putin has flown to Mariupol by helicopter, his first visit to the Ukrainian city decimated by Russian forces as they seized it in May last year. Putin drove around several districts of the city stopping and talking to residents a day after he visited Crimea to mark the ninth anniversary of the Black Sea peninsula’s annexation from Ukraine.
