Leon alleged that the protesters engaged in violent acts such as spitting, throwing glass, and bringing fireworks, and accused them of mocking the death of Charlie Kerr, a figure associated with the organization.

The discussion also touched on broader political themes, with Leon and the host criticizing mainstream media and political figures for downplaying or denying the existence of groups like Antifa. Despite the unrest, Leon stated that such actions would not deter TPUSA members from continuing their activities and advocating for their values on campus.

Joining me now is the president of Turning Point USA Berkeley, John Paul Leon. John, thank you for joining The Pulse this evening. Who are these agitators? Did you recognize or know any of them? Yes, so there is a lot of agitators as you just pointed out and they're definitely getting violent. As far as who these agitators are, well there's definitely a mix between students and people who from the local area or outsiders who are coming into UC Berkeley. There's not too much that I can say for certain about these agitators. They definitely focus a lot in their private circles. I do know there were some student organizations that had been organizing this event and some of them put out posts about the protest saying to bring noisemakers to the event starting at 4 p.m. before it started and in those posts was actually a song which was etched in to the bullet that killed Charlie Kerr and so this is what we're dealing with. We're dealing with people who are cheering on the death of a man, a beloved husband, a fantastic father and they're doing it in such a way that is putting our attendees in great fear and concern of their own safety and they're jeopardizing the entire constitution of the United States that we have fundamentally agreed upon which is our values of free speech. Yeah, free speech is one thing but spitting on people, that's assault. Throwing glass at people, that's assault. It's just violence and then mocking the death of our friend Charlie who is an incredible man. It's just so evil. It's just demonic. You know UC Berkeley where this brawl happened, it has a Turning Point chapter. I think you're the president of that chapter but it's the most liberal university in the country. John, what do you think that this says about Charlie Kirk's mission and the path that Turning Point USA is on? I mean of course a great way to understand anything is to take a look at the extremes and UC Berkeley is a pretty extreme campus of course with radical leftists here and so when we want to see which side is right, which side is wrong, we have to see where the extremes are lying at largely time and we've seen an amplified amount of leftist people here at UC Berkeley campus who are engaging in such a violent manner and what does that have to say? It's very clear to us that when you have to use force and you can't use truth or reason you have lost the battle and so we know that we can be more firm in our beliefs that we maintain and more firm in our values because the devil is cheering at the loss of Charlie Kirk. Yeah, yeah, that's what he is. Demons, demons cheer when anything evil happens and when people are cheering for evil then they're cheering with the demonic realm. You know when President Trump designated Antifa as a domestic terror organization in September, take a look at how the mainstream media responded, claiming they didn't even exist. There's no Antifa, this is an entirely imaginary organization, there is not an Antifa. Compared to right-wing extremists, Antifa-linked violence is rare and limited. John, do you think liberals will change their tune after seeing what's happened at Berkeley and and maybe even some of these liberal hosts will acknowledge the fact that Antifa is real and it's not made up? Well, I'll be looking forward to seeing if Antifa is real, I suppose, but it's very hilarious to watch these clips from these mainstream politicians and people who are denying the existence of such a group, but the truth is if it looks like Antifa, sounds like Antifa, acts like Antifa, it probably is Antifa and we're seeing a lot, at least on our campus, of people who are, you know, they're disguising themselves and they're acting in this violent manner and what's very clear is exactly what we've been talking about this entire interview, spitting on people, throwing glass, lighting flared smoke bombs, I mean they brought fireworks, I guess that's how excited they were for our event, they brought fireworks to celebrate, but it's just very insane and incredible that this is the response that we get and of course we've seen this time and time again in the 2020 Summer of Love, during the Viola riots that broke out, again which was the largest scope and scale of political violence we've ever seen in modern U.S. history, Kamala Harris retweeted out a bail fund in the middle of the riots and we see this on and on again with our mainstream political actors from the left where they will try to normalize and rationalize or justify this kind of violence, trying to essentially show that it is okay or that they're fighting the name of social justice or that oh well it's a small fraction anyways or Antifa doesn't even exist and the list just continues to go on and on and on. Yeah it does, last question for you, we have just a little bit of time but will these type of flare-ups by Antifa, will these people showing up trying to scare you, will it stop you or anybody at your turning point USA chapter from representing Charlie's mission and helping it move forward? Absolutely not and we see here on our campus there is a deep sense of people who are afraid and who don't, they're not eager to face off against this but they know deep down in their heart that they have to do whatever they can to continue on Charlie's legacy and to continue fighting for what is true because we need truth fighters and truth seekers in order to protect what's right.
