A powerful atmospheric river, categorized at the highest severity level, is expected to impact the Pacific Northwest, particularly Washington and Oregon. Areas south of the Olympic Mountains and along Interstate 5 are forecast to experience hazardous wind, rain, and up to a foot of precipitation, with significant snowfall anticipated in the Cascades and Bitterroots.

While the rainfall will benefit water resources, the event is likely to create dangerous travel conditions, especially for truck drivers and those delivering supplies. The risk of flooding is highest from Monday through Tuesday along the Interstate 5 corridor, with worsening conditions expected at locations such as Stevens Pass.

Your atmospheric river categories. They are categorized and the more severe top of the line will be a five and notice in places like say Washington and Oregon including let's see South of the Olympic Mountain Mountains. You've got some trail you or Washington, which is right about there and try along portions of the five. And notice that we've got in places like Cape Disappointment, all areas where you have that again, the level five category five. That's going to be just the onslaught of the wind and rain and quite hazardous to say the least. But even when you get to parts of like down to a two or three in that category, you'll have some benefits. The rainfall, the moisture. We have to have it. We need it. However, it's that five where we could see that core of heavy rainfall could be up to a foot and at some places, not just along the coastal range, but certainly into the Cascades. But snow is also going to be a tremendous feature too. Again, if you're a skier, if you are a fisherman, this is fantastic. You like that what you don't like. If you're driving a truck, if you're trying to deliver gifts, that sort of thing. Any kind of supplies can be definitely for you, especially across parts of the Bitterroots of Montana and Highway 22. We always point that out. That's one of those places that can. If the weather goes South, you're not going anywhere, right? It's going to be one of those big problems. You could deal with Stevens Pass, beautiful location, and right now conditions could be going from tricky to troublesome to worse, and that could be the case for tomorrow. We could see beginning to build up, but from Monday through Tuesday, that's where your best chance of flooding will occur along the five corridor.
