The city of Plano, Texas, is honoring veterans with a public display of 1,111 American flags at Oak Point Park. Each flag includes an honor card that shares the story of a veteran or first responder, contributed by community members from across the country.

The display is open to visitors throughout the week, not just on Veterans Day, and also features 27 historical U.S. flags and flags representing military branches, POW, and MIA. Organizers emphasize the importance of remembering and respecting the sacrifices made by those who have served.

Plano has an absolutely beautiful display of flags. 1111 and it is just such an incredible thing that anyone could come out for free to see not only for Veterans Day, but just to honor veterans for this entire week. I have Ian and Lisa to talk to me about what exactly we're seeing here. Lisa tell me. Tell me what's on each of these 101,111 flags. Yes, thanks, Peyton on each flag out here. We have an honor card and this is a story of a veteran or first responder that has served. These are put in by members of the community. They could most of them are probably local, but there could be ones from all over the all over the country. It tells their story. It shares history. People can come out and read the stories and they do at all hours of the day and night. One thing I have not added yet. I wanted to let you know there are 1111 flags out here, but that also includes the 27 historical flags of the United States along the front row as well as our branch of service and POW and MIA flag. And tell me in as a veteran yourself, what do you want people to take away from this experience walking through and learning so much here? What I want people to take away is the lesson that. We always need to honor our veterans. We need and we need to teach the next generation the importance of honoring our veterans that everyone that puts on the uniform to serve is serving for all of us, and they keep our freedom free. That's so remember, honor, respect. That's what I want. Well, thank you both so much. I mean, it is just so incredible to see all the flags waving in the wind as well. This is something that you could come to at any point of the day as well.
