Defending Formula E champion Oli Roland used the off-season to welcome a new addition to his family and spend time in Santorini. Four months after securing his first title, Roland remains motivated and proud of his achievements, quickly shifting focus to the upcoming season.

Roland acknowledges the difficulty of winning consecutive championships, noting that only Jean-Eric Vergne has done so before. With this being the final season for the current generation of Formula E cars, Roland expects the competition to be tighter than ever and emphasizes the importance of continuous improvement.

Defending Formula E champion Oli Roland welcomed more than just the off-season break, he became a father. Interesting was probably being in labour with my wife, enjoyable I think the few weeks I spent in Santorini after the season. Four months on from his maiden title, the motivation's still burning. Of course it's proud, it's something that I've been working towards, so I'm very happy and proud of what we achieved last year. But I think quickly after the season I recognised it and I have the motivation to try and do it again now, which is important. Only Jean-Eric Vergne has managed back-to-back championships, Roland knows the challenge ahead. Well I think obviously we're in the last generation of car now, so last year of this generation of car. So you know everybody's super strong, so it's going to be tighter than ever. So I think it's just about being perfect, picking up all the things we learnt from last year and also trying to improve, and not just trying to do the same things. So yeah, it's going to be very, very tough but we'll give it a go.
