As for Macron's real trust levels, according to a poll published in late July, his approval stands at 28%, a four-point drop from June. Meanwhile, another recent poll revealed that 21% of French citizens trusted Macron. Pollsters use different research methods, which can lead to different results. However, these figures are a far cry from the 7% figure. Macron's popularity has dwindled over the course of his second term, influenced by a range of factors, including his dissolution of the National Assembly in June 2024, after the far right surged in the European parliamentary elections, as well as more recently his government's plans for 2026 budgetary cuts. Although the post was recently shared by public-facing figures from the Rassemblement Nationale party, Euroverify detected that the post has been circulating on social media since December 2024. Posts analysed by Euroverify reveal that users sharing the fake poll aim to discredit Macron's political legitimacy.
