The disappearance of the girls occurred after they failed to meet Libby's father as planned. Their bodies were discovered the following day, partially covered with sticks, and both had died from cuts to their throats. The case remained unsolved for over five years until the arrest of Richard Allen, a local CBS employee, in 2022, igniting new developments in the investigation. Allen was subsequently found guilty of two counts each of murder and felony murder in November 2024, leading to a sentencing of 130 years in prison. Despite the verdict, Allen has filed an appeal, while the group advocating for his innocence continues to circulate the full 43-second video online.

It purportedly shows the last moments that 13-year-old Abigail Abbey Williams and 14-year-old Liberty Libby German were seen alive. Here it seems Libby filmed Abbey as they walked on an old railroad bridge in Delphi, Indiana on February 13, 2017. A man, referred to as Bridge Guy, is visible behind the girls. Police and prosecutors later identified him as the murder suspect. The two girls were reported missing after they failed to meet Libby's father that afternoon. The next day, their bodies were found near the bridge, partially covered by sticks. Both teens died from cuts to the throat. The case went cold for more than five years, until Richard Allen, a local CBS employee, was arrested in 2022. A group claiming that Allen was wrongfully convicted posted the full 43-second cell phone video to their website. They say it's the same video played during the trial. In November 2024, Allen was found guilty of two counts of murder and two counts of felony murder. He was sentenced to a maximum of 130 years in prison, and he has filed an appeal.
