The convention, originally planned for North High School, was moved to the Target Center to accommodate the large number of delegates and alternates, as well as to enhance security. Right now a battle between mayoral candidates to get the Minneapolis DFL endorsements and to get that support one of them needs to garner at least 60% of the delegate votes. Well Karen we had to step outside to talk to viewers at home but inside right now delegates just had their first ballot. They're actually about to have a bit of a meal break and they aren't expecting to have results from that first ballot for at least about another hour or so. Obviously a lot is on the line today as these candidates are hoping to go home with the Minneapolis DFL's endorsement for mayor but they will need to build a coalition of at least yes 60% from a group of 800 delegates with a wide range of opinions. I'm supporting Mayor Friday. The other three candidates of I think Omar's got the best shot and I like Dwayne and Jazz as well. We're very fortunate in our city that we have the candidate pool that we have. I love how diverse it is. I love where people stand. Originally this convention was actually planned for North High School but organizers moved it here to the Target Center just to have more space for those 800 delegates as well as 800 alternates but they wanted this venue as well just in order to ramp up security.
