As the Fourth of July holiday period concludes, millions of Americans are returning home, marking one of the busiest travel periods in recent years. AAA projected that 72 million people traveled for the holiday, with 61 million opting for road trips, encouraged by the lowest gas prices since 2021 at an average of $3.14 per gallon, down 35 cents from the previous year.

Airports, including Los Angeles International, reported steady passenger flow and few delays, with the potential for a record number of people screened by the TSA in a single day. Despite heavy traffic and busy airports, most travelers reported a smooth experience. AAA advised those yet to travel to consider delaying their departure to avoid peak crowds.

We always get there very early just in case a projected 72 million Americans exercise their freedom for fun by making a holiday getaway travelers at L. A. X. Including Ashley Pineda got a break from usual bottlenecks. How early did you arrive to the airport today? Um, probably like an hour and 15 minutes before my flight. Just an hour. 15 more. Not worried at all. Not necessarily. Passengers flow through security checkpoints. And if sunday tops more than three million people screened, it would be the busiest single day in T. S. A. History. Most Americans braved bumper to bumper traffic. An estimated 61 million people took a road trip fueled by the lowest gas prices since 2021. Despite any slowdowns on the streets or at airports, most travelers didn't stress out. What's the secret in keeping calm at the airport? Just take it easy. Mhm.
