Kazakh President Kassem Jamartukhaev visited Tokyo ahead of the C5-plus-1 meeting, where he and Japanese representatives signed more than 40 agreements totaling €3 billion. The agreements span sectors such as energy, mining, transport, and digitalization, reflecting strong economic ties between the two countries. 

Notable deals include projects in cancer treatment biotechnologies and the production of medical radioisotopes. The visit also featured official discussions with Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, as well as the signing of 14 intergovernmental agreements.

Ahead of C5-plus-1 meeting of Central Asian states in Japan, Kazakh President Kassem Jamartukhaev arrived in Tokyo to meet with representatives of Japanese businesses. Japan is one of Kazakhstan's largest investors, with trade turnover reaching 1.5 billion euro last year. In turn, Kazakhstan accounts for 70% of Japan's trade with Central Asia. Overall, the country signed over 40 documents for 3 billion euros in energy, mining, transport and digitalization. Notable agreements include requisites, biotechnologies for cancer treatment and a joint project between Sumimoto Corporation and Kazatomprom for the production of medical radioisotopes from byproducts of uranium manufacturing. Tukhaev's visit kicked off with the official lunch with Emperor Naruhito, where the two discussed cooperation opportunities in medicine and water management. With Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, the President discussed the upcoming C5-plus-1 meeting. Following the negotiations, the delegation signed 14 intergovernmental agreements. Tukhaev also met with members of Japan-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship League and gave a lecture at the United Nations University in Tokyo.
