Yemen’s Houthi armed group has declared that it will target “vital targets” in Israel after Israel’s army bombed significant sites in the Yemeni city of Hodeidah. The Israeli military confirmed the strikes on an oil facility and a power station, following a Houthi drone attack on Tel Aviv.

The attacks in Hodeidah led to extensive damage with plumes of smoke visible as vital infrastructure was hit. Four airstrikes targeted oil facilities, exacerbating Yemen's existing fuel, electricity, and living crises. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu observed the attack, following the defense minister's orders, emphasizing Israel’s stance on retaliating against threats.

The Houthi drone strike in Tel Aviv resulted in one fatality and injuries to ten others, prompting an investigation into why Israel’s air defense systems failed to intercept the drone. In response, the Houthis threatened further actions and continued to assert their previous declarations regarding threats to Israeli areas.

The situation has resulted in increased tensions, contributing to the broader conflicts involving Israel in Gaza and southern Lebanon, with casualties reported on both sides.

The Israeli military is still investigating why the country's air defense systems were not activated to intercept the aerial target. But the Houthis are now threatening to not let this attack go unanswered. The Yemeni armed forces confirmed that they will respond to this blatant aggression and that with the help of Allah Almighty they will not hesitate to strike the vital targets of the Israeli enemy while confirming what was stated in their previous statement considering occupied Jaffa as an unsafe area. Dozens of casualties in Yemen as the attacks mark an escalation between both sides as Israel continues its assaults on Gaza and southern Lebanon.
