This development was reported as Iranian state media disclosed that Iran's forces had intercepted drones, coming just days after Iran executed a drone strike on Israel in retaliation. Iranian media highlighted that explosions were heard near a military base in Isfahan, a central city, with drones being successfully neutralized. The reports further clarified that the nearby nuclear facilities in Natanz, which have been under suspicion by Western entities for potentially contributing to atomic weapons development, remained unscathed.

This action appears to be a response to Iran's recent aggressive deployment of hundreds of drones into Israeli territory, purportedly in retaliation for an attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria. The defense systems of Israel managed to intercept the majority of these drones and missiles, preventing them from reaching their territory. In light of the attack reports, Israel has not issued any comment.

In a recent address to the United Nations Security Council, Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, urged Israel to refrain from engaging in any further military actions. One Reuters source said the U.S. was notified of the Israeli strike, but not involved. Iran's president has said the country would deliver a severe response to any attack on its territory.
