Wind speeds are expected to reach 50-70 miles per hour, with some areas like Bailey, Colorado, already seeing gusts up to 60 mph. These conditions are likely to cause travel disruptions, especially for flights in and out of Denver, and pose increased fire danger, particularly during the afternoon when winds and low humidity peak.

So the PDS, it's issued when there's extremely low humidity, damaging winds, as we're expecting for today, only issued for the most extreme events. So it's not very often that they issue something like this. And you can see the red flag warnings extend from Wyoming and Nebraska all the way down to Texas here, but it does include the Jefferson County area of Colorado. We do have the high wind warnings, and this basically means those winds are gonna be up around 50, 60, 70 miles per hour. And I mentioned even some higher gusts than that in portions of Jefferson County. So here are the winds out there this morning. You can see the hot pink on the map, 40 to 50 miles an hour. There's a 60 around Bailey, Colorado. Denver, check on those flights. It's gonna be a bumpy one for sure. We could have some delays due to the wind. And of course, just doing any traveling, even by vehicle, those high profile vehicles, it's gonna be a tough go for you as well. There's your lowest humidity. Again, it's usually during the afternoon when the strongest of the winds come through. So that's really the time to just be mindful of and just know that there could be some issues out here.
