Analysts suggest that economic and security issues have overshadowed environmental concerns among voters. This shift may impact the European Green Deal, a package of cross-party environmental policies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing renewable energy use. The deal has already faced challenges from the centre-right European People's Party, which currently holds a majority.

With policies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing renewables, the deal has already faced challenges in recent months by the centre-right European People's Party, a party now in the majority.
