AFP's Ukraine video coordinator Arman Soldin was killed on Tuesday by rocket fire near Chasiv Yar in eastern Ukraine, AFP journalists who witnessed the incident said. The attack happened at around 4:30 pm on the outskirts of the town close to Bakhmut, the epicentre of the fighting in eastern Ukraine for several months.

This according to Reporters Without Borders. Solzhenitsyn had made regular trips to Ukraine since the war broke out, sharing his experiences on the front line. This video shows him being caught under gunfire while he was accompanying trench diggers at the start of this month. A moment he described as one of the longest in his life. Sarajevo-born Solzhenitsyn had been living in Ukraine since September. AFP chairman Fabrice Fries says the whole agency is devastated by his loss.
