Team members expressed pride in their achievement, highlighting the rarity of reaching this level and the significance of their accomplishment.

Looking ahead, the team is preparing for the Western National Championships in Moore Park. Players and coaches attribute their success to a strong team bond, daily hard work, and the unwavering support of their parents, who have played a crucial role in their journey.

C. 10 News reporter Tali Latoi spoke with the team about what makes this year and this team so special in this positively San Diego story. It's a moment not many ever get to swing out. It's really special because honestly, not a lot of teams get to get this or make it this far. So it's really cool. A moment they won't ever forget state champion. Um, we won states and this is what we got for winning. This ring is some hard earned hardware for the Escanito 12 U girls softball. They're riding high after winning the USA Softball SoCal State Tournament Championship. Um, it felt really good. I felt really proud of my team and like how far we made it from an undefeated streak to the winner's circle. This is all extra time that we didn't know we're gonna have. And these girls worked hard and we get to go up there and show what we got again. These young all stars tell me they have something you won't find in the box score. Our bond probably like we're all super close. Yeah. And I think we just have like really close connections that we just get along like really easily because like a lot of teams don't have that. Some people are like inside certain little small groups with each other. But like we all like bond with each other and connect and we don't leave another person out. The next stop, the Western National Championships held in Moore Park Tuesday. More tough competition. But coach says they're more than ready. You know, these girls, there's uh, there's no prima donnas on this team. They all come out here. They're tough as nails. They come out here, they work every single day. They never complain. They go out there, put their best foot forward, have great attitudes, great effort. They control the controllables is what we always talk about with them. So they're just great, smart softball players. And of course the amazing support system behind them. Like that's a really big job for parents and so driving us around with our little attitude. We couldn't do it without our parents. We wouldn't even because we have to drive far for state. We wouldn't even be there if our parents weren't driving. Shout out parents. Yes.
