We will robustly challenge this unlawful and dangerous approach in court. If he wants to fight that fine in court, well, we're up for that fight. Court may be the best option to set boundaries, according to social media expert and Greens member Simon Copland. We have to look at the balances here to see the balance between free speech and the balance between the harms that sharing material may have on the community. The power struggle between government and social media giants isn't isolated to Australia and will be difficult to solve, but the New South Wales Premier isn't considering deleting his X account.
