Dreamforce 2023 kicks off in San Francisco with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, and the conference is bringing in millions in much needed revenue to local businesses around the Bay Area.

morning to you. Well, we've covered the opening day of Dreamforce, at least I have personally over the last three years. The first year we did it was that first year after COVID-19 were only about 5000 attendees came through. Now you look behind me here, we're expecting to see more than 43,000 here in person and hundreds of thousands joining online here. Of course, taking a few blocks of Howard in downtown San Francisco traffic here certainly will be heavy if you're headed out the door in this direction. This year's Dream Force focus AI technology. Now this Dreamforce this year is expected to bring an estimated $57 million to the city. Hotels are booked, restaurants are taking reservations. It's that economic impact the city says it is worried to lose. Salesforce CEO Mark Benioff suggested earlier this year of homelessness and drug use become a problem. He may look elsewhere for the convention. This morning I spoke to the senior vice president of strategic events for Salesforce who says San Francisco is part of Dreamforce is DNA. We have a very good partnership with the city. We work really closely on health and safety and security and it's been a great planning process. We're super excited for this year's event and we're excited for the potential to be here again. So all signs are focused on the best event we can possibly produce in partnership with the city and it's been really great so far. According to the Chronicle, Dreamforce does not have a history of reporting any major problems or incidents, but staff members and customers in recent years have sent in complaints about homeless and filthy streets here in San Francisco. But Mayor London Breed as well as SF Travel, the city's local travel agency, they say the idea of moving Dreamforce out of the city would be news to them. They've only heard great reviews and great feedback when it comes to some of the people who have stayed here in hotels year after year. So they say they are going to treat this Dreamforce like any other year and hope to accommodate the people who are here for the next couple of days as best as they can. Dreamforce will wrap up on Thursday and we expect to hear from CEO Mark Benning off at about 10 o'clock this morning.
