Could a trillion dollar coin end the debt ceiling debate?

The debt ceiling has no relation to spending cuts or tax increases. It simply puts a limit on how much the government can borrow to pay for money. Congress has already spent since Congress has spent a lot. It has to go up some Republicans. Don't think it should be raised. That would mean sometime later this year, the US would default on its debt. This is generally seen as triggering Financial Armageddon. The trillion-dollar coin has been suggested as a workaround treasury would use its authority to make collector coins to Mint one. They would say is worth a trillion dollars. It would be deposited in the treasury's account at the fed and the treasury would have a trillion dollars. It didn't have to borrow, but it's not clear. It's legal. There would be lawsuits and what happens while the courts are deciding, if it's illegal with everyone that treasury paid have to give the money back. It would also put the FED which is independent to handle monetary policy in bed with an Administration doing fiscal policy. The FED may just say no good very well add to inflation by meeting the coin. Treasury would also be giving in to members of Congress who essentially took the economy hostage and it wouldn't last very long trillion dollars is about 7 months of borrowing and spending bottom-line. The debt ceiling may be a problem. A trillion-dollar coin is probably not a solution.
