Health Minister Roger Kamba confirmed that during the outbreak, there were 53 confirmed cases, 45 deaths, and 11 probable cases, with over 47,500 people vaccinated.

The outbreak, which began in Bulape, Kasai in September, was the province's first since 2008. Authorities, with support from the World Health Organization, established a new treatment facility and overcame logistical challenges in vaccine delivery. The country has now entered a 90-day period of enhanced disease surveillance.
