Adam Sheafe, currently held in Maricopa County Jail, has admitted to the killing of 76-year-old pastor William Shoneman in New River, Arizona. Sheafe faces first-degree murder charges and has openly discussed his motive, claiming it was part of a targeted plot against Christian pastors. 

A former federal prosecutor, Josh Cole'srude, stated that the nature of the crime and the age of the victim could make this a death penalty case. Sheafe has shown no remorse and has indicated he believes he deserves the death penalty, but legal experts note that the final decision will rest with the court. Sheafe is being held on a bond exceeding $10 million, with his next court appearance scheduled.

He is facing first degree murder charges in the death of 76 year old William Shoneman, but this case brings up a lot of legal questions. While former federal prosecutor Josh Cole's route says he has no idea why she's admitted to the crime. He does think she will end up facing the death penalty, which will significantly up the stakes in this case. Adam Schafe has already admitted to killing 76 year old Pastor William Shoneman. Did you kill Pastor Bill Shoneman? Yes. He has also been clear about his motive, a deadly plot targeting Christian pastors he claims are quote leading people to a false path by following Jesus. Former federal prosecutor Josh Cole's rude said that motivation is a key reason he believes she will face the death penalty in his trial. You know, the first thought that came to mind really was if this isn't a death penalty case, I don't know what is. Another is the nature of the crime, a murder that was both cruel and heinous. A pastor, 76 years old, was brutally murdered and crucified in his own home. The self described killer spoke to Fox 10 last month, showing no remorse for taking Pastor Bill's life. And today, will you apologize to Pastor Bill's family? I will apologize to them on the aspect that I'm sorry that they got caught in the crossfire. Um, will I apologize for my actions? Absolutely not. I'm defending my father. But along with Shoneman's age, prosecutors could have enough to seek a death warrant. The age of the victim was over 70. So he's in a protected group. I asked Cole's rude what the defense could possibly argue in this case. If I'm going to be his defense attorney, I don't like what he's doing because the only defense, at least the way that it looks right now is some type of insanity or diminished capacity defense. And while she himself has said he deserves the death penalty, Cole's rude says that won't be up to him. I know I've heard a lot of people say, well, if he wants the death penalty, why should we give it to him? Well, it's justice.
