Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company, is in preliminary discussions with Google regarding a cloud computing deal that could be worth tens of billions of dollars, according to Bloomberg. Amazon is currently Anthropic's main infrastructure provider and its largest backer, having invested approximately $8 billion in the company. Google has also invested about $3 billion in Anthropic and supports its multi-cloud approach. Both companies have not yet commented on the reported talks. The news comes as Google's shares saw a rise in after-hours trading.
