Authorities in West Jordan, Utah, are investigating a house fire that resulted in the deaths of four people, including two adults and two juveniles. Police believe the fire was deliberately set by one of the deceased individuals, and investigators found that an accelerant was used to spread the flames rapidly.

Officials have stated that all the victims were members of the same family and that there is no danger to the public. The community and first responders have been acknowledged for their efforts to help those affected by the incident.

It's just the chaos, I guess, would say from the fire. Jim Callaway lives close to the home that was engulfed in flames Friday morning. I just woke up and opened up the window and saw all the smoke. Callaway says it was something he'd never seen before. It was bad. I knew it was really bad. West Jordan police and fire continue to investigate the incident. We found this to be an isolated incident. We believe this was an arson that was committed by one of the deceased individuals. Saturday afternoon, West Jordan Police Sergeant Andrew Hercules gave an update. The fire investigators determined that an accelerant was used to rapidly spread the fire. Three deceased individuals, an adult male, an adult female, and a juvenile male inside the residence. The fourth individual, a juvenile female who was flown to the University of Utah hospital. She has succumbed to her injuries and is also deceased. Officials say there's no danger to the public related to this incident. We do believe each of these individuals are part of the same family. A lot of concerned neighbors, a lot of people who attempted to help the family and to help everybody who was involved. We'd like to thank those people for their brave actions and what they did.
