A gunman opened fire inside a Midtown Manhattan office building that houses the NFL and Blackstone, resulting in four fatalities. Among those killed was Wesley Lepatner, a Yale graduate and senior managing director at Blackstone, as well as an off-duty NYPD officer, Dhirul Islam, who was working security at the time. 

The shooter, identified as 27-year-old Shane Devon Temora from Las Vegas, reportedly drove from Nevada and had documented mental health issues. Authorities found a rifle, ammunition, and medication in his car. Temora died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and a suicide note referencing grievances with the NFL and claims of suffering from CTE was found on his person. The incident has drawn responses from officials, including President Trump.
