While the White House maintains an optimistic outlook, some economists have warned that firing the statistics chief could undermine public trust in official economic data.

Los aranceles de Trump pesaron en las ganancias corporativas publicadas por algunas de las mayores empresas del país esta semana. Los beneficios de GM cayeron en 1.100 millones de dólares en los tres primeros meses del año. Ford informó de un golpe arancelario de 800 millones de dólares y registró su primera pérdida trimestral desde 2023. Y Apple dice que los aranceles le costaron casi 2.000 millones de dólares en la primera mitad del año. Aún así, la Casa Blanca se mantiene firme. Mira, sabes que este informe de empleo no es ideal.
