Tesla reported delivering 384,122 vehicles in the second quarter, a figure slightly below estimates but better than some analysts had anticipated. This result led to a modest increase in Tesla's share price. The company's deliveries represented a 13.5% decline compared to the same period last year, and analysts project Tesla may deliver around 1.65 million vehicles for the year, below last year's total of 1.89 million. In China, Tesla saw a small increase in June sales after several months of declines.

Rivian reported second-quarter deliveries of 10,661 vehicles, which was generally in line with expectations. The company maintained its annual delivery guidance of 40,000 to 46,000 vehicles. Rivian's production for the quarter was just under 6,000 vehicles, impacted by a model changeover at its Illinois plant. Both companies are expected to release their quarterly financial results in the coming weeks.
