The report also raises concerns about the impact of new technologies, such as facial recognition, which could exacerbate discrimination. While some countries have taken steps to address the problem, others, including France and Italy, have not fully implemented recommendations to monitor or assess racial profiling. The Council of Europe urges member states to prohibit racial profiling by law, improve police training, and ensure accountability.
