The exchanges obtained by Politico are part of a Telegram chat among Young Republican leaders in New York, Kansas, Arizona and Vermont. A Politico investigation obtained thousands of messages from a private Telegram group chat involving leaders of young Republican organizations in New York, Kansas, Arizona, and Vermont. The messages, exchanged over seven months, included racist, anti-Semitic, and offensive remarks, as well as discussions supporting slavery and expressing admiration for Hitler.

The authenticity of the messages has not been disputed by those involved, with several acknowledging the harm caused and apologizing. As a result of the revelations, four individuals have lost their jobs, and prominent political figures have issued statements in response. The situation continues to develop as further fallout is expected.
