NASA has unveiled the closest images ever taken of the sun's atmosphere, captured by the Parker Solar Probe during its recent flyby. The probe approached within 3.8 million miles of the sun's surface, significantly closer than any previous spacecraft.

These high-resolution images reveal new details of the sun's corona, including the collision of three coronal mass ejections (CMEs). Such phenomena can impact Earth's auroras and pose risks to satellites and astronauts. Scientists hope these observations will deepen understanding of solar winds and space weather.
