Meta has revealed it will begin displaying advertisements in WhatsApp's Updates tab, marking a significant shift in the platform's monetization strategy. This move comes more than a decade after Meta's $19 billion acquisition of WhatsApp, and is seen positively by shareholders due to the platform's large user base.
