The deal, supported by regional neighbors and the United States, comes after Israeli airstrikes targeted southern Syria and the Syrian Defense Ministry in Damascus. The strikes were reportedly carried out to protect the Druze community amid recent clashes with Syrian government forces, which have resulted in significant casualties and displacement.

The United Nations has called for an end to the violence and an independent investigation into the conflict, which has claimed around 650 lives and displaced tens of thousands. Meanwhile, U.S. officials have commented on related regional developments, including damage to Iran's nuclear facilities and ongoing diplomatic efforts to revive nuclear talks with Iran.
