Unlike the Special Cup however, unlocking the classic Mirror Mode is considerably more complex, with a list of requirements that has taken the kart-racing community some time to discover.

Nintendo has included a hidden Mirror Mode in Mario Kart World, which players can unlock by completing specific in-game achievements. To access Mirror Mode, players must finish every Grand Prix Cup and Knockout Tour at 150cc, regardless of placement, and collect a set number of in-game items in free roam mode.

After meeting these requirements and completing the Special Cup at 150cc, Mirror Mode becomes available, offering a reversed version of all tracks for an added challenge. Players can also activate Mirror Mode in the open world by performing a special action in Peach's Stadium, temporarily transforming the environment.
