Efforts to achieve these reductions include strengthening the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, implementing youth intervention programs, and reducing recidivism. Polis acknowledged that Colorado is not yet among the top 10 safest states, and further funding for law enforcement will be available soon. A voter-approved proposal will also provide additional resources for recruiting, retaining, and training police officers.
