Set in 2027, Battlefield 6's storyline centers on a conflict between the United States and its allies against a private army named Pax Armada, alongside several European former NATO countries. EA designers emphasized that similarities to current events are coincidental, as development began years prior. The game is set for an autumn launch, positioning it in direct competition with a forthcoming Call of Duty release from Blizzard Activision.
