The $730 million project will add 590,000 square feet to the airport, equivalent to the size of ten football fields. This expansion is part of the broader $8.2 billion O.R.D. City officials highlighted that the project will provide significant opportunities for minority and women-owned businesses, as well as create sustainable careers for residents across Chicago. The new Concourse D will feature modern amenities such as light-filled atriums, new lounges, and a children's play space, with completion expected in 2028.
